BANJO WORLD
July 1894
WHAT THE "STAR" WRITES
MESSRS. Essex and Cammeyer’s
banjo concert at the St. Martin’s Town Hall last
night was one long series of encores. The amateur
orchestra kept faultless time in waltz and polka, the
celebrated Cammeyer string quartette evoked furious
applause with an artistic minuet and a brilliant
pizzicato, and Mr. Cammeyer’s masterly solos were
given in his very best style. A newcomer, Mr Olley (sic.)
Oakley, won golden opinions for his wonderful execution of
Cammeyer’s "Danse Pantomime".
