In May 2002 Nick managed to get in touch with Olly Oakley’s last surviving son, Edward. Now aged 87, Ted lives in Berkshire with his wife Peggy. He still cherishes the memory of his illustrious father and has been able to share some fascinating recollections. He has also agreed to allow us to reproduce here items from a scrapbook he owns containing concert announcements, newspaper reviews and other memorabilia which help to chart the course of Oakley’s career. In the photograph below we see Ted listening to a recording of his dad, Olly, playing one of his own compositions, "White Rose".
