Oakley Letters - the Walsh Collection

From 1905 to 1912 Olly Oakley lived in Liverpool. As well as his concert and
recording work he continued to teach a limited number of students, though
many less than in his earlier Birmingham days. One such student was William
Walsh of Manchester. Early in 2007 Walsh's great-grandson, Stephen Walsh got in touch to tell us about a bundle of letters in his possession from Oakley
to his great-grandfather as well as some other Oakley memorabilia. It is with
Stephen Walsh's kind permission that we reproduce here some of these
fascinating items.
