Police are trying to determine the identity of the woman and how she died

Kent Police are trying to identify a woman and the circumstances surrounding her death after her body was discovered on Thursday January 13 at Mill Creek Canyon Earthwork Park along Canyon Drive.

Officers responded at around 11.30am after witnesses found a body while walking in the park, according to a January 14 Kent Police statement.

The woman is Caucasian, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs about 170 pounds, according to police. Police did not release the woman’s estimated age.

Detectives and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office are working to identify the woman and her cause of death.

Puget Sound Fire helped recover the woman and first reported Thursday that a body had been found near Canyon Drive.
